Wholesale vs. retail investors
Most of the offers on Snowball Effect’s marketplace will be available to retail investors (the general public are classified as retail investors). However, a company may restrict its offer to wholesale investors due to regulatory or other reasons.
For example, the company may have already raised the $2 million retail investor limit in the past 12 months, or it may prefer to structure its offer in a way which is not permitted by the equity crowdfunding regulations (such as by offering a convertible note), or it may prefer to focus on larger investors.
Facilitating wholesale investor offers enables us to support a broader range of Kiwi businesses, and bring a wider variety of offers to investors.
There are a few advantages to verifying yourself as a wholesale investor:
- Access to a wider range of deals – certain offers are only available to wholesale investors.
- Early access to each public offer.
